BI Records QRIS Transactions Growing 170.1 Percent In Early 2025

JAKARTA - Bank Indonesia (BI) reported that the volume of the Quick Response Code Indonesian Standard (QRIS) in January 2025 continued to grow rapidly by 170.1 percent (yoy) supported by an increase in the number of users and merchants.

BI Governor Perry Warjiyo conveyed that the performance of digital economic and financial transactions in January 2025 will continue to grow, supported by a safe, smooth and reliable payment system.

"In terms of transactions, digital payments reached 3.5 billion transactions or grew 35.3 percent (yoy) supported by all components," he said at a press conference, Wednesday, February 19.

Furthermore, transaction volume in mobile applications and transaction volume on the internet continued to increase, which in January 2025 grew by 29.7 percent (yoy) and 19.8 percent (yoy), respectively.

Meanwhile, in terms of infrastructure, the volume of retail transactions processed through BI-FAST reached 338.5 million transactions or grew 41.5 percent (yoy) with a value of IDR 870.9 trillion in January 2025.

Perry conveyed that the volume of large value transactions processed through BI-RTGS decreased by 9 percent (yoy) to 799.3 thousand transactions with a value of IDR 15,880 trillion in January 2025.

Meanwhile, in terms of managing Rupiah money, the Circulated Kartal Money (UYD) grew 11.0 percent (yoy) to Rp1,127.6 trillion in January 2025.
