Erick Thohir Negotiated To Sri Mulyani For The Budget Of The Ministry Of SOEs At IDR 215 Billion

JAKARTA - Minister of State-Owned Enterprises (BUMN) Erick Thohir admitted that he had proposed to the Minister of Finance (Menkeu) Sri Mulyani that her ministry receive a budget ceiling of Rp215 billion.

Erick revealed that the initial budget whose ministry was IDR 277.5 billion. Then, because of efficiency, the budget obtained by the Ministry of SOEs became IDR 161.9 billion. This means that there was a cut of IDR 115.6 billion.

However, Erick said the limit for drinking the operational budget of the Ministry of SOEs was at Rp215 billion. Therefore, Erick requested that the ministry's budget ceiling be at that figure.

"Alhamdulillah, yesterday afternoon we tried to propose to the Ministry of Finance, it has not been confirmed 100 percent, but they saw that our proposal was not something that was made up. Because indeed our minimum limit to operating is Rp215 billion," he said in a working meeting with Commission VI of the DPR, Jakarta, Thursday, February 13.

Erick explained that the Rp215 billion budget was already included in the efficacy carried out by the meter. For example, reducing the budget for official travel by 54 percent. Then, reduce the 50 percent cost of SOE supervision. Then, reduce the IT facility to 41 percent.

"Then for the reduction of the ATK to 90 percent, 70 percent reduce the leadership facilities," said Erick.

In fact, said Erick, his party also reduced the budget for official vehicles by 66 percent. He said, initially the official vehicle of SOE Ministry officials using full electric vehicles, is now a hybrid.

"Yesterday we all rented, we tried to replace the cheaper one from an electric car to a hybrid. The goal was that the electricity was now hybrid, the price could be cheaper, up to 66 percent," he said.

In addition, Erick said that he also admitted to saving the budget for meeting activities by 43 percent.

"As well as eliminating ceremonial things, we have cut it. Then 39 percent efficiency in building use," said Erick.
