Badanas Proposal For HET Minita In Eastern Region Rises

JAKARTA - The price of simple packaged cooking oil with the Oilita trademark is still expensive, especially in Eastern Indonesia. Therefore, the National Food Agency (Bapanas) proposed that the Highest Retail Price (HET) in the eastern region be increased.

For your information, the HET of Oilita set by the current government is IDR 15,700 per liter. The HET applies to all of Indonesia, including in eastern Indonesia.

Head of Badanas Arief Prasetyo Adi said that the eastern region has a difference in shipping costs that are different from other regions in Indonesia. This difference makes the price of Oilita in the region more expensive.

"The permit will be conveyed to Mr. Budi, Mr. Trade Minister, if for example those in the area have added shipping costs, we will discuss it again. Because it seems that there is a little gap for the main areas in the east. Arief said that this price difference does not only occur in the Oilita commodity, but also in other basic necessities such as rice and sugar.

"In the expansion, there is an excess of Rp. 500 per liter, Rp. 300 per liter for outside regions. The price of sugar is also the same, we have a zone there plus Rp. 1,000, yes. If I'm not mistaken, there will be a difference in shipping costs," he said.

Furthermore, Arief said President Prabowo also paid attention to the high price of Oilita. He said Prabowo asked the Food SOEs to intervene in intervening in the price of Oilita.

"The President's order at a meeting at the Ministry of Home Affairs, the President conveyed the involvement of SOEs, SOEs were given, Bulog was willing to 50,000 tons per month," he said.

Arief also requested that within the next one to two weeks, all stocks of Oilita can be sent to areas to reduce price increases ahead of fasting and Eid Al-Fitr 2025.
