The Ministry of Public Works (PU) has confirmed that the Sei Busui Bridge, which was damaged by a traffic accident with cement trucks on the connecting routes of East Kalimantan and South Kalimantan Provinces, will soon be repaired.
The plan is that the repair of the bridge will use the budget from the Ministry of Public Works and is targeted to be completed within the next five months.
"(The budget) is from PU," said the Director General of Highways at the Ministry of Public Works, Rachman Arief Dienaputra, to VOI, Thursday, January 16.
However, Rachman Arief has not been able to specify how much the Ministry of Public Works will allocate for the construction of the bridge.
"Not yet (there is a budget)," he said.
When asked further when the repair of the bridge will be carried out, Rachman Arief said he would wait for the budget allocation first. "Wait for the allocation first," he added.
Previously, the Sei Busui Bridge collapsed after a traffic accident involving a cement transport truck on Thursday morning, January 16.
"The accident was caused by the fact that the truck driver could not control the speed of the vehicle, so he hit a diagonal trunk in the middle of the bridge," said Head of the East Kalimantan National Road Implementation Center (BBPJN) Directorate General of Highways Hendro Satrio Muhammad Kamaludin.
