Government Designs Investment Facilities Regulations In IKN
IKN/DOC ANTARA Area

SAMARINDA - The government is preparing a draft government regulation (RPP) as a legal basis for ease of investing and doing business, granting business permits, and investment facilities in the Indonesian Capital City (IKN).

"The RPP is targeted for completion in the near future so that it can help the IKN Authority, which is targeted to operate by the end of this year," said Sidik Pramono, Coordinator of the Information and Communications Team for the IKN Transition Team.

According to him, IKN as a project that has strategic value for the national economy, will certainly provide convenience and attractive facilities for investors. Thus, they can come to IKN to invest because in the construction of IKN there are more expectations from investors.

"The hope is that a number of regulatory schemes that have been prepared will have advantages for the investment world at the regional level, being able to outperform neighboring countries," said Sidik.

The IKN Authority, he said, will continue to carry out an assessment of market interest, even though the assessment is planned to be led directly by President Joko Widodo to promote various investment opportunity projects in IKN, then listen to various aspirations from investors.

The government will invite various business actors from within and outside the country to optimize the involvement of business actors in IKN development so that later IKN development can minimize the allocation of funds sourced from the APBN.

"In the future, IKN will open up very broad business opportunities, ranging from the marine and fisheries sector, agriculture, energy, trade, health, education, culture, tourism, to other sectors that have been planned as contained in the IKN Master Plan, " he said.

The IKN Master Plan, among others, contains a commitment to provide more equitable access to all regions of the Republic of Indonesia, to encourage the development of the eastern part of Indonesia for regional equity.

In addition, to change the development orientation from Java centric to Indonesia centric, the availability of large land so that it can build a new capital city with a green area that is more dominant than the built area, and to reduce the burden on the island of Java.
