JAKARTA - The Head of the Presidential Staff Office (KSP) Moeldoko ensures that the central government guarantees the availability of diesel fuel for fishermen by providing various easy access to subsidized oil needs.

Moeldoko said that the activity was intended to solve the problem of distributing subsidized diesel fuel for existing fishermen so that they receive subsidized diesel correctly and appropriately.
According to him, this is because there are many problems with diesel fuel for fishermen. Starting from its unavailability, the problem of scarcity, to other problems such as being late and not having stock at the fisherman's refueling station (SPBN).
"We don't want this problem to continue to happen, especially since this continues to be a recurring issue. That's why we are here to sit down together to be able to immediately end this problem," said Head of KSP Moeldoko.
Meanwhile, KSP Main Expert Alan Koroptan said that currently there are approximately 2.7 million small fishermen spread throughout Indonesia.
He said the fishermen should be prioritized to get subsidized diesel, considering that these fishermen are the most vulnerable to the problem of subsidized diesel.
"It's just that we need to record the number of small fishermen, especially those with fishing boat capacity below 5 Gross Tons (GT). Given that this type of ship is not required to be licensed, so we need data on how many fishermen actually own boats under 5 GT," he said.
As for ownership of vessels measuring 10 GT, 20 GT to 30 GT, he continued, in general they are categorized as small fishermen. Their existence is not too difficult to get subsidized diesel, because they have sufficient funds to buy it.
However, he said, the government and the public still hope that with the various policies that continue to be carried out, the problem of the scarcity of subsidized diesel will not occur again. Moreover, the current government has issued a special Business and Fisheries Card (Kusaka) program for fishermen.
"Hopefully with the Kusuka Card program, fishermen will have no more difficulty getting subsidized diesel fuel. Because the target is small fishermen under 5 GT," said Alan Koroptan.
