Until 2021, PLN Distributes Electricity Subsidy Of IDR 457 Trillion

JAKARTA - PT PLN (Persero) during 2014-2021 has distributed subsidies of Rp. 457 trillion.

PLN President Director Darmawan Prasodjo said the distribution of electricity subsidies was an effort to reduce economic pressure on the underprivileged and micro, small and medium enterprises (MSMEs).

"Through access to reliable and affordable electricity, PLN wants to ensure that there is economic movement at all levels of society," he said in a written statement, Friday, June 10.

Darmawan said that PLN was committed to providing reliable and affordable electricity supply for the community.

In addition, continued Darmawan, distribution of electricity subsidies for the poor and small business actors as an effort to alleviate poverty.

The presence of the state through this economic protection also received a positive response from the community.

They feel helped and are very grateful to get electricity subsidies.

One of them is Nuraini, who is a 450 Volt Ampere (VA) power customer and has a home business selling breakfast and fried foods in Pekanbaru. This 45-year-old woman also appreciates the government and PLN for supporting the small business world like herself.

"With the electricity subsidy given to MSMEs like us, it really helps reduce our living expenses amidst the difficulty of getting a job," said the mother of 3 children.

Nining also expressed gratitude, who opened a coffee shop business in the Cikapundung area, Bandung, West Java.

He admitted that the assistance distributed through PLN really helped his business and daily life.

"Alhamdulillah, the subsidies from the government are cheaper and help," he said.

The same thing was said by a resident of Pasuruan, East Java, Imam Syafi'i. He felt helped by assistance from PLN.

"Hopefully customers with 450 VA power will continue to receive subsidies from the government," said Imam.
