MATARAM - PT PLN (Persero) is ready to support the success of the Motor Cross Grand Prix (MXGP) in Samota, Sumbawa Regency, West Nusa Tenggara, with the high-voltage electricity infrastructure of the Sumbawa Electric Toll Road which has a network length of 748.71 kilometers of circuits (Kms).

General Manager of PT PLN Nusa Tenggara Nusa Tenggara Development Main Unit Wahidin said the high voltage interconnection system on Sumbawa Island or what is often called the Sumbawa Electricity Toll Road began construction in 2009.

"The Sumbawa Electric Toll Road is divided into two high-voltage systems, namely the high-voltage 70 kilo Volt (kV) and 150 kV," Wahidin said as quoted by Antara, Monday, May 30.

Wahidin said, the interconnection of the Sumbawa Electric Toll Road is composed of 1,201 tower footprints that stretch from the west end to the east end.

The infrastructure development cost a construction investment of Rp591 billion.

According to him, the need for electrical energy at the MXGP Samota event can be supplied from three main available power plants, including the West Sumbawa Steam Power Plant (PLTU) with a capacity of 2 x 7 Mega Watt (MW), and the Bima PLTMG with a capacity of 50 MW.

"Reliability of the supply of electrical energy for the success of the MXGP international performance is a must for PLN, and PLN is very ready to take a role to participate in developing the regional and national economy by providing excellent service and a qualified electricity system," said Wahidin.

He emphasized that the construction of electricity infrastructure carried out by PLN in NTB was still being carried out, both on Lombok Island and Sumbawa Island.

We are preparing Sumbawa to support investment in the mining and industrial sectors," Wahidin said.
