JAKARTA - A start-up company in the field of education, Zenius Education, has laid off 200 of its employees.

Zenius' management said that the layoffs had to be carried out because Zenius was affected by the current economic impact. So it experienced the worst macro economy in recent decades.

Those affected by layoffs will be assisted and found work.

"After going through a comprehensive evaluation and review, Zenius announced that more than 200 of its employees had to leave Zenius," explained a written statement received by VOI, Wednesday, May 25.

To adapt to the dynamic macroeconomic conditions that affect the industry, Zenius also needs to consolidate and synergize business processes to ensure sustainability.

"One of the implications of this key strategy is the changing roles in several business functions along with the optimization and efficiency of the business processes being carried out," he said.

Employees affected by layoffs will receive severance pay in accordance with applicable laws and regulations in Indonesia.

Management admits that currently is a difficult time for affected employees, the company will also continue employee health insurance benefits until 30 September 2022, including for their family members.

"In addition, Zenius has also extended health counseling services with our third-party consultants until September 30, 2022," he said.

To help them get new opportunities, Zenius Management is also actively sharing their personal data with other companies or educational institutions with the consent of the affected employees.

"Zenius also advises the content creator team to apply for a Tentor position at the Primagama branch," he concluded.

Management also explained that during the transition process, Zenius was committed to ensuring that all rights and support needed by affected employees were properly met.
