JAKARTA - PT PLN (Persero) submitted a contract to purchase a new renewable energy certificate (EBT) or renewable energy certificate (REC) for 1,300 REC units to PT MAS Silueta.

PT MAS Silueta is the third company in MAS Holdings that has used 100 percent of NRE energy, where previously PT MAS Sumbiri and PT Prym Intimates had handed over the PLN REC purchase contract.
Manager of PLN UP3 Semarang Eric Rossi said, in line with the government's program towards Indonesia Carbon Neutral in 2060, PLN has consistently campaigned for the use of new and renewable energy through the REC facility.
According to him, this is also proof of PLN's innovation in encouraging company awareness in Indonesia about the importance of clean and environmentally friendly energy, getting a positive response.
"To realize the government's program towards Indonesia Carbon Neutral in 2060, all parties need support. We would like to thank PT MAS Silueta, which has now officially taken advantage of environmentally friendly energy," he said in a statement to the media, Friday, May 20.
Eric said the REC purchase contract would also have a positive impact on customers.
Through the purchase of REC, customers contribute to supporting the government's program to accelerate the achievement of Indonesia's new renewable energy mix target of 23 percent by 2025.
On the other hand, Deputy General Manager of PT MAS Silueta, Tilanka Munashinge, said that the use of new and renewable energy is part of the company's vision. He also appreciated PLN for being able to answer the clean energy needs of the company.
"We thank you for the REC facility from PLN to PT MAS Silueta," said Tilanka.
