SURABAYA - PT PLN (Persero) will supply electricity of 750 kilo volt amperes (kVA) to support the 2022 world surf league (WSL) in Banyuwangi, East Java (East Java).

General Manager of PLN UID East Java, Lasiran said, the world surfing league will be held from May 28 to June 6 2022 at Plengkung Beach (G-Land), Tegaldlimo District.

"The electricity supply will be distributed at several points, such as lodging, broadcast centers, helipad stands, offshore judge towers, VIP towers, medical centers and other strategic locations," said Lasiran, quoted by Antara, Wednesday, May 18.

He said the preparation of this supply was part of PLN's commitment to provide the best service, so that the international event could run safely and smoothly.

"PLN also has experience in presenting reliable and quality electricity at various events, both national and international events," said Lasiran.

He said PLN had surveyed the location to calculate electricity needs, as well as building electricity infrastructure for the 2022 WSL series of events.

"The construction of electricity infrastructure has been carried out by PLN since the end of April 2022, it is observed in the field of pole construction and the withdrawal of the Low Voltage Network (JTR), until the distribution transformer upgrade has been completed," he said.

He admitted that the progress of work carried out by PLN was upgrading transformers from 200 kVA to 250 kVA, planting poles for the supply of offshore Judge Towers, pulling JTR cables to supply VIP Tower & Medical Center, as well as installing and withdrawing JTR supplies for Offshore Judge Towers.

"The electricity demand for WSL 2022 is quite large. We have prepared a reliable electricity supply for the event," said Lasiran.
