JAKARTA - Minister of Finance (Menkeu) Sri Mulyani said that throughout the current year the government had spent at least Rp. 21.1 trillion to support the procurement of vaccines for the people of Indonesia. This was revealed by the Minister of Finance when holding a virtual press conference on our State Budget today.

It was stated that this value was used to purchase around 107.3 million COVID-19 vaccines from various sources, including domestic and foreign.

"This is a form of goods expenditure from the central government whose benefits are directly handed over or distributed to the public," he said, Monday, October 25.

According to the Minister of Finance's records, the number of people who have received the first dose of vaccine until the third quarter of 2021 is 91.1 million people. Meanwhile, the second dose has been distributed to 51.1 million people.

"Indonesia is the sixth largest country in the distribution of the first and second doses of vaccine," he said.

On that occasion, the state treasurer also said that the Ministry of Finance through the Directorate General of Customs and Excise facilitated the ease of procurement of imported vaccines by exempting tax levies totaling Rp4.63 trillion.
