Good News From The Deputy Minister Of BUMN Pahala Mansury: International Flights Will Open In Two Weeks

JAKARTA - The Ministry of State-Owned Enterprises (BUMN) has confirmed that the government will open international flight routes in the next two weeks. The government hopes that the opening of the main gate for international flights can contribute to the tourism sector in Indonesia.

Deputy Minister of SOEs I Pahala Nugraha Mansury said the opening of international flight routes was motivated by the decline in active cases of COVID-19 in the country.

"And we hope that in 2021, with the decline in pandemic cases and in the next 2 weeks it has been announced that Indonesia will again open its doors for foreign tourists to Indonesia," he said at the launch of the Mandalika Circuit, Thursday, October 7.

Pahala said the opening of international flight routes will support various activities which will be carried out at Pertamina Mandalika International Street Circuit, Central Lombok, West Nusa Tenggara (NTB),

The activity in question is the Idemitsu Asian Talent Cup which will be held on November 12-14, 2021. Then, on November 19 this year, the FIM MiniGP or World SuperBike will be held. Meanwhile, in 2022, MotoGP will be held which is scheduled for 11-13 February 2022 until the IndonesianGP in March 2022.

Pahala said a number of the first international sporting events held after the COVID-19 pandemic were expected to be able to encourage the recovery of the domestic tourism sector.

"So hopefully, of course, the doors have been opened, the event and the availability of infrastructure, all of these things are the key to how we can move the tourism industry back in Indonesia," he explained.

For your information, the Ministry of State-Owned Enterprises ensures that state-owned companies will work optimally when opening doors for foreign flights. The readiness of SOEs itself aims to encourage the recovery of the tourism sector in Indonesia.

For example, in Bali, later PT Angkasa Pura (Persero) will carry out readiness and vigilance at the airport which is the main entry point for tourists. Then, the shareholders directed PT Garuda Indonesia (Persero) Tbk and PT Citilink (Persero) to increase their flight access in the area. In the health sector, a state-owned hospital (RS) holding company will be prepared.
