Participating In The Construction Of The XX Papua PON Arena, PTPP's Stadium Is Rated By Jokowi As The Best In Asia Pacific

JAKARTA - The state-owned construction company, PT PP (Persero) Tbk, also attended the opening of the biggest sporting event in Indonesia, namely the XX Papua National Sports Week (PON) on Saturday 2 October. The sports party which was opened directly by President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) took place at the Lukas Enembe Stadium which was built by PTPP.

In his remarks, President Joko Widodo revealed that this stadium is one of the best stadiums in the Asia Pacific. PON XX Papua has 56 sports with a total of more than 6,000 (six thousand) athletes participating in the event.

"My feelings and those of you must be the same, we are proud in Papua. We are also proud to be in the best stadium in the Asia Pacific. We are proud to open the 20th PON, the first PON to be held in Papua," said Joko Widodo at the ceremony. the opening of the XX Papua PON 2021.

President Director of PTPP Novel Arsyad and Anton Satyo Hendriatmo as Director of Operations for PTPP Building were also present at the opening party of the XX Papua PON which was inaugurated directly by President Joko Widodo some time ago.

"PTPP is very proud to be a part of organizing PON XX Papua. In this PON XX, the company has contributed a lot in the construction of venues or arenas used for organizing sports events, such as building the Lukas Enembe Stadium. Not only the Lukas Enembe Stadium , PTPP is also working on the construction of Istora Papua Bangkit, Rugby Venue, and Volly," said Novel Arsyad.

Novel said, thanks to the innovations applied to the construction of the sports arena or venue, Istora Papua Bangkit managed to achieve three MURI records in its construction work.

Not only the Istora Papua Bangkit project that received a record from MURI, the construction of the Rugby Venur also managed to win three MURI records.

"PTPP succeeded in building a Rugby sports venue in just 93 days with international standard quality. In addition, the rugby venue construction project has received a lot of appreciation from officials. Not only building, but PTPP will continue to provide quality results from the construction of projects that done," explained Novel.

The three MURI records that Istora Papua Bangkit successfully won in 2020 were the longest textile duct ring installation, the widest dome roof without bolts, and the longest curved steel roof.

Meanwhile, the Rugby Venue also obtained three MURI records for the installation of the first sports arena with a Pre-Fabricated system, the construction of the fastest World Rugby standard rugby arena, and the fastest installation of synthetic grass on the Field of Play.
