JAKARTA - Coordinating Minister for Economic Affairs Airlangga Hartarto asked young people to have a change of mindset in living life so they don't just focus on being a State Civil Apparatus (ASN).

"The mindset of young people should not only be ASN, but how to develop themselves to become an entrepreneur," he said during a meeting with religious, community and youth leaders in Ambon, quoted from Antara, Tuesday, October 5.

He said the government has supported young people to become entrepreneurs through a number of programs that have been prepared for Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs).

The assistance programs include the Productive Micro Business Assistance (BPUM) or direct cash assistance (BLT) for MSME actors, as well as the Productive Presidential Assistance (Banpres) program of IDR 1.2 million.

In addition, he added, the government has also launched cash assistance for street vendors and or stalls in the form of cash worth IDR 1.2 million which is distributed through the TNI and Polri.

So far, the government has disbursed credit for business actors exposed to the COVID-19 pandemic by distributing People's Business Credit (KUR) for people who have not been touched by banking services.

Funds for the distribution of KUR will reach IDR 285 trillion in 2021 with a maximum loan of IDR 100 million, interest at 3 percent per year and without collateral.

Until now, the value of KUR disbursed in Maluku Province has reached Rp. 768 billion, which is enjoyed by 26,660 debtors.

Airlangga ensures that the various programs can be easily accessed by the public, so that the economy continues to grow, even though there is currently a COVID-19 pandemic.

"This capital program can be accessed by the public to encourage economic recovery, especially since the cities of Ambon and Maluku are already at PPKM Mikro Level 2, which means that economic activity has started to run normally," he said.
