XX PON In Papua Anti Byarpet: PLN Disburses Rp313 Billion To Build Electricity Infrastructure For The 4-Yearly Sports Event

JAKARTA - The State Electricity Company (Persero) or PLN will disburse funds of IDR 313 billion to support the implementation of the XX Papua National Sports Week (PON). The funds will be allocated to build electricity infrastructure in the Cenderawasih Earth.

Director of Human Resources Management Syofvi F. Roekman explained that most of the funds were allocated to build electricity infrastructure in Jayapura Regency, Jayapura City, Merauke Regency and Mimika Regency which were the locations for PON implementation and to support the opening of PON activities.

As is known, the four areas are the location of the PON implementation and support the opening of the PON. The XX PON event will be held from 2 to 15 October.

"From the start, PLN has been committed to supporting the implementation of PON in Papua. This is a national event. The success of organizing PON is the success of the nation," he said, quoted from the official pln.co.id website, Thursday, September 16.

Furthermore, Syofvi guarantees the reliability of electricity supply in all venues and supporting facilities for the sporting event which is held every four years.

Of the total power capable of electricity reaching 228.2 megawatts (MW), it is projected that the peak load during PON implementation will reach 153.5 MW.

"So there is a power reserve of around 74.7 MW," he said.

In addition to the power supply, continued Syofvi, PLN has carried out several developments and reinforcements, including the construction of Medium Voltage Air Lines (SUTM), Medium Voltage Cable Channels (SKTM), Low Voltage Networks (JTR), Substations, Distribution Substations, and others. .

"In order to secure electricity during the XX Papua PON, PLN has also prepared 129 units of mobile generators with capacities of 100 kW, 200 kW, 500 kW to 1000 kW," he said.

In addition, said Syofvi, 55 units of Mobile Substation (UGB), 45 units of Mobile Uninterruptible Power Supply (UPS), 7 units of Mobile Cable Units (UKB) and 4 Mobile Cable and Cubicle Units (UKKB) were also prepared.

On the other hand, during the standby period from September 18 to October 15 2021, PLN will alert 1,574 personnel at 45 match locations and 230 other strategic locations such as VIP offices, lodging, hospitals, command centers and others.

Meanwhile, the Daily Chair of the PON Large Committee (PB PON), Yunus Wonda said that the role of PLN was very large to ensure the supply and reliability of electricity for the implementation of PON.

"For a long time, PLN has been supporting the implementation of PON in Papua, especially the electricity needs in lodging and all places that support the implementation of PON. We are very grateful to PLN," he said.
