Launches PEN 2020 Book, Sri Mulyani Gives Thanks To Ministries/Agencies And Local Governments For Helping To Achieving WTP

JAKARTA - Minister of Finance (Menkeu) Sri Mulyani said that the achievement of the Unqualified Opinion (WTP) from the Supreme Audit Agency for the 2020 Central Government Financial Statements (LKPP) was an achievement.

"The opinion of the WTP LKPP in 2020 was achieved. This is not something easy but we are grateful for what we have achieved. Likewise with LKKL (Financial Reports of State Ministries/Institutions) and LKBUN (Financial Reports of State General Treasurers) who experience or receive WTP opinions," he said during the webinar for the book launch of PC PEN 2020 Accountability Control, Tuesday, September 14.

According to the Minister of Finance, the pandemic situation requires the policy to use the budget to change quite significantly. However, he appreciated institutions that still uphold accountable management of state finances.

"I want to thank you for improving the quality of financial reports that occur in extraordinary situations, which is an achievement that is not easy and not something simple," he said.

In detail, the state treasurer stated that 84 out of 86 ministries and institutions received a WTP opinion.

"This means that 97.7 percent of agencies at the center get a WTP opinion from the BPK," he asserted.

Then, as many as 486 of the 542 local governments (Pemda) level I and II were also declared to have obtained the WTP predicate.

"The local government's WTP opinion reached 89.7 percent consisting of 33 provinces, 99 city governments and 356 district governments," he added.

Furthermore, the Minister of Finance claimed that LKPP WTP shows that the central government manages the State Budget in accordance with best financial management practices, as well as in accordance with the provisions of the law and Government Accounting Standards.

He said this success could increase public confidence in the government because the public knew that the money collected from taxes and other sources had been managed properly and used for public welfare in accordance with the constitutional mandate.

"Let's continue to maintain and manage state finances by building governance in each agency because what we use are public funds, people's funds and this must be properly accounted for," closed the Minister of Finance Sri Mulyani.
