PLN Asks To Inject Rp5 Trillion Of PMN, What Are The Uses For?

JAKARTA - State Electricity Company (Persero) or PLN is expected to receive State Capital Participation (PMN) for the 2022 Fiscal Year of IDR 5 trillion. This value is down from the company's initial proposal of Rp10 trillion. The budget consists of the national economic recovery budget (PEN) of Rp682.69 billion.

PLN President Director Zulkifli Zaini said the company needed this additional capital to accelerate the transmission and distribution of electricity, as well as to accelerate the development of five super priority tourist destinations from the government.

"The PMN for the 2022 budget year is IDR 5 trillion, the 2021 economic recovery program (PEN) of IDR 682.69 billion is needed for the development of a super priority tourism destination area that is planned to operate in 2022," he said during a hearing with Commission VI DPR, Wednesday, September 1.

As for the details, the DPSP for Lake Toba is IDR 185.52 billion, Mandalika IDR 73.52 billion, Borobudur IDR 46.91 billion, Labuan Bajo IDR 290,24 billion and Likupang IDR 86.5 billion.

In addition to PEN, PMN worth Rp 5 trillion is also allocated by the company for a number of electricity projects next year. For example, the cost of capital expenditure for transmission and distribution, including the implementation of the village electricity program (lisdes), new and renewable energy generation (EBT) to support the lisdes program.

"PLN is committed to the energy mix target of 23 percent by 2025," he said.

Then, continued Zulkifli, investment for the development of transmission related to the evacuation of power plants, reducing the cost of supplying electricity (BPP), overcoming system vulnerabilities, thereby increasing sales.

Furthermore, investment in the transmission function to support the new evacuation of new power plants owned by PLN and IPP to consumers. From the Rp5 trillion budget plan, according to him, Rp2.8 trillion will be allocated for this function.

"In addition, investment in the distribution side is made to support increased sales to new customers," he said.
