JAKARTA - The Coordinator for the Implementation of the Java-Bali Community Activity Restrictions (PPKM), Luhut Binsar Pandjaitan, asked the public not to cover up if they were exposed to COVID-19. In addition, said Luhut, conducting centralized isolation is also important in order to reduce the high mortality rate in the country. This is because there are many cases of worsening of the condition of COVID-19 patients when they are self-isolating due to being late in being taken to health facilities. Thus, the total number of COVID-19 patients who died reached 127,214, since the announcement of the first case on March 2, 2020.

Meanwhile, the highest number of deaths due to COVID-19 was in East Java with 189 cases. Then in Central Java there were 98 new cases, Bali 66 cases, Lampung 58 cases, and DIY with 39 new cases.

"So, let's prevent it early. So of course we can take care of each other and avoid this pandemic," he said. In addition, Luhut reminded that in the next few days there will be a trend of increasing data on confirmed cases and deaths due to COVID-19. This is because the government is in the process of revamping the data.

Luhut said that based on the PPKM level 4 evaluation, the mortality indicator data has been entered as an assessment in accordance with the World Health Organization (WHO). Previously, said Luhut, 2 weeks ago there was an effort to improve the data so that now it is getting better. However, the data in some areas need the next 1-2 weeks to be better. "There have been many reported cases of previously unreported deaths. I remind you that in the next few days there will be an increase in confirmed cases and also death cases issued by districts/cities. "There are several hundred or thousands of data that will be gradually released in the next 10 days," he said.
