Budgeting Rp384 Trillion, Sri Mulyani Has Good News: Will Build 6 New Airports And Other Infrastructure In 2022

JAKARTA - Minister of Finance (Menkeu) Sri Mulyani revealed that the government has budgeted Rp384.8 trillion for infrastructure development next year.

He said this during a virtual press conference related to the submission of the 2022 State Budget Bill that had been proposed by President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) to the DPR.

"Infrastructure development is intended to fulfill basic services, increase productivity, and support the completion of national and strategic priority projects," he said earlier this week, August 16.

According to the Minister of Finance, the 2022 infrastructure budget policy will focus on three aspects. First, accelerating the completion of infrastructure projects that were delayed due to the pandemic. Second, development priorities for strategic outputs that support economic recovery.

Third, strengthening the synchronization of funding between ministries/agencies, local governments, and BUMN/BLU/private sectors.

“From the infrastructure budget of Rp. 384.8 trillion, the total expenditure of the central government is Rp. 170.4 trillion. Then, infrastructure spending transferred to the regions and village funds amounted to Rp. 119.2 trillion, as well as budget financing of Rp. 95.2 trillion," he said.

Meanwhile, the infrastructure budget will be used, among others, for the construction of basic infrastructure such as 2,250 special housing units, 3,501 flats, and 222,425 drinking water channels.

Then, energy and food infrastructure in the form of 105,000 irrigation networks, and 10,000 household gas pipelines.

Furthermore, infrastructure that supports connectivity such as 6 new airports, 6,624 km of railway lines, 205 km of new roads, 8,244 meters of bridges, and support for the development of the Sumatra Toll Road.

The last is information technology (IT) infrastructure in the form of 2,344 BTS in the 3T area, as well as the provision of internet network capacity of 25 gb via satellite. 938.3 trillion as well as transfers to regions and village funds of Rp. 770.4 trillion.

Meanwhile, state revenue in 2022 will be Rp1,840.7 trillion, consisting of tax revenues of Rp1,506.9 trillion and Non-Tax State Revenues (PNBP) of Rp333.2 trillion. That means the budget deficit will touch Rp868 trillion or 4 .85 percent of (gross domestic product (GDP).
