JAKARTA - PT Kereta Api Logistik (KAI Logistik), which is a subsidiary of PT KAI, signed a cooperation agreement with the Indonesian Motor Association (IMI) regarding privileged facilities in the form of special rates for the delivery of motorbikes and other supporting equipment.

Plt. President Director of KAI Logistics TLN Ahmad Malik Syah said his party was trying to make more contributions to all stakeholders and not just focusing on business alone.

According to him, the existence of IMI is very strategic because it is the only parent of the national automotive organization in Indonesia and has an important role in facilitating the automotive sports industry.

"This collaboration clearly integrates various fields, such as logistics, tourism, social affairs as well as in the automotive industry," he said in an official statement, Friday, August 13.

Malik added that courier and logistics services through KAI Logistik are available at 143 points along the islands of Java, Bali and recently arrived in Bandar Lampung.

"In addition to the availability of extensive service points, we also believe that the advantages of the train mode, especially in terms of security and speed of delivery, are able to provide more convenience for all IMI members in meeting their logistics needs," he explained.

On the same occasion, Chairman of IMI Bambang Soesatyo revealed that in addition to helping stimulate the logistics industry, the agreement greatly helped IMI in organizing various automotive events, both sport and mobility.

“Now IMI members don't have to worry about the method of sending their needed goods, either in the form of motorized vehicles or other supporting goods. Because KAI Logistics provides very special discounts to IMI member card holders," he said.

The man who is often called Bamsoet continued that IMI focuses on the world of automotive activities, namely sports and mobility. In the field of sports, IMI facilitates the improvement of the achievements of automotive athletes, including by building many circuits and facilities and infrastructure, as well as holding various championship events from regional, national, to international scales.

"This year, there are 56 national level car racing championships and 2 international car racing championships, namely TCR Asia and Asian Gokart. There are also many activities in the field of mobility, such as touring, social assistance for victims of natural disasters, to automotive modifications," explained Bamsoet.

To note, IMI has around 7,398 automotive clubs representing around 110,000 road users spread across 34 provinces. At the organizational level, IMI has around 5,210 sports clubs, 838 mobility clubs, and 1,350 sports and mobility clubs.

"Through this collaboration, now the logistics needs for various sports activities and IMI mobility can be served through KAI Logistics," he said.

For information, the cooperation agreement is valid for four years, starting from August 12, 2021 to August 11, 2025. After that, the agreement can be extended again according to the agreement of both parties.
