In Bangka Belitung, Red Ginger Sold For IDR 150,000 Per Kilogram

JAKARTA - The Provincial Government of the Bangka Belitung Islands together with small and medium industries agreed on the price of red ginger powder at Rp. 150,000 per kilogram. This price is set to improve the community's economy in the midst of the COVID-19 pandemic.

"I want to help small and medium industries (IKM) continue to produce during this pandemic, as well as play a role in the pandemic period and introduce the potential of red ginger in this area," said Governor of the Babylon Islands Erzaldi Rosman Djohan in Pangkalpinang, Saturday, July 31, quoted from ANTARA.

The price of red ginger powder at IDR 150,000 per kilogram with packaging per 100 grams will be ordered according to the production capacity of each red ginger powder drink IKM to increase the body's resistance of COVID-19 patients undergoing quarantine.

"We appoint red ginger from IKM to be included in this medicine package and please don't force yourself, according to your ability, if you can produce more it will be better," he said.

This IKM red ginger product will be purchased directly, as well as conveying to the public that red ginger is one of the herbal products to increase body immunity.

"The distribution of this red ginger product will begin next week, so that it can immediately be used by residents exposed to Covid-19 who are isoman," he said.

Head of the Industry and Trade Agency of Babel Tarmin said that IKM producing red ginger powder would be accommodated and asked to provide 1kg packages in 10 packs containing 100grams each, according to the direction and agreement with the governor.

"How many products will be purchased from each IKM will be seen from the production capability in accordance with the agreed price and composition. As a follow-up, in the next two days, a direct meeting will be held with IKM actors and several related parties to make sure," he said.
