RSPJ Extension Of Arafah Haji Jakarta Embarkation Inaugurated, Luhut Appreciates, Erick Thohir: If China Can Do It, Indonesia Can't?

JAKARTA - Pertamina Jaya Hospital (RSPJ) Arafah Haji Embarkation Jakarta Extension was inaugurated today, Monday, July 19. This hospital is intended to accommodate COVID-19 patients with severe and critical symptoms. There are 150 isolation ward beds in this hospital.

President Director of PT Pertamina Bina Medika IHC dr. Fathema Djan Rachmat said that of the total available rooms, 124 of them are used for the ICU and HCU, which are equipped with 74 ventilator machines and 50 non-HFNC ventilators.

Meanwhile, said Fatema, the remaining 26 are used for isolation for recovery or healing. The hospital is also partially equipped with a laboratory. Pertamina Jaya Extension Hospital Arafah Hajj Embarkation Dormitory Jakarta will have 320 health workers, 210 nurses, 75 doctors, 15 analysts, and 20 pharmacist assistants.

Fatema said the hospital also provides resting facilities for health workers located in Buildings D1 and D2.

"We also hope that this extension emergency hospital can be useful for COVID-19 services and strengthen COVID-19 control," he said at a virtual press conference, Monday, July 19.

Fatema said the hospital, which was prepared in a short time, was operated by Pertamina Jaya Hospital and was named a special hospital for COVID-19. The hospital area is 4,127 square meters, and this hospital consists of four floors for the treatment of severe and critical patients.

In another part of the building, Fatema said Pertamina had prepared a hemodialysis room. This hospital will be a supporter of the construction of beds with a capacity of 900 people being prepared by the Ministry of Health in the Hajj Dormitory.

In addition to the Pertamina Jaya Extension Hospital Arafah Hajj Embarkation Dormitory Jakarta, Pertamedika IHC and Pertamina are building the Pelni Tanjung Duren Extension Emergency Hospital with a capacity of 500 beds. In the first stage, Pertamedika will complete 318 beds and the second stage 182 beds.

"This is so that we can immediately serve COVID-19 patients, who need services, especially for moderate, severe, and critical conditions," he said.

Meanwhile, SOE Minister Erick Thohir appreciated the use of religious facilities as a place to handle COVID-19 patients. According to him, this is an extraordinary breakthrough and should be applauded.

Furthermore, Erick said the government and all of its staff will continue to work together to suppress the spread of COVID-19. According to him, the government also received a lot of support from private companies to community leaders.

"This is a part of how we show the world. If America can do it, China can do it, Indonesia can't," said Erick on the same occasion.

The Coordinating Minister for Maritime Affairs and Investment Luhut Binsar Pandjaitan also appreciated the inauguration of the Pertamina Jaya Hospital (RSPJ) Hajj Dormitory Extension managed by Pertamina Jaya Hospital, a business unit of PT Pertamina Bina Medika IHC as a COVID-19 referral hospital.

"Congratulations and I am sure that the IHC Extension Hospital that was built will be very useful for treating COVID-19 patients and also facing the threat of new mutations from COVID-19," said Luhut.

"I think this is the result of real work that we need to appreciate together, the extraordinary synergy from the Ministry of SOEs in collaboration with the Ministry of Health, which in the field is supported by the team of Dr. Fatema," he continued.
