Providing Individual Paid Vaccination Program, Erick Thohir's Special Staff: Our Target Of Herd Immunity Will Be Achieved

JAKARTA - The Special Staff of the Minister of SOEs Erick Thohir, Arya Sinulingga, explained the reason why PT Kimia Farma provided paid COVID-19 vaccine services for individuals.

Arya said that the independent vaccination included in the Mutual Cooperation (Gotong Royong) vaccination program was carried out in order to accelerate the target of herd immunity as much as 70 percent of Indonesian people have been vaccinated.

"This is part of the steps so that vaccinations can be carried out and completed quickly. Our target is to achieve herd immunity", Arya told reporters, Sunday, July 11.

Moreover, said Arya, the implementation of individual paid vaccinations from state-owned companies was carried out after receiving the approval of the Ministry of Health. Minister of Health Budi Gunadi Sadikin has issued a Decree of the Minister of Health Number HK.01.07/Menkes/4643/2021.

"This is because the Ministry of Health has issued technical rules regarding the Mutual Cooperation Vaccination (VGR), which is allowed not only for companies but for individuals", said Arya.

Arya emphasized that the existence of this paid vaccination facility does not mean that it will shift the national vaccination program which is free or does not impose costs on the community. This paid vaccine, he said, is an option.

"Our goal is for vaccination to occur more quickly in the community, the sooner it will be implemented. So there are many choices. So, the free vaccine implemented by the government is still running", he explained.

It is known that state-owned company PT Kimia Farma has opened a paid vaccination service for individuals. This service is included in the Gotong Royong (VGR) vaccination program.

Kimia Farma has prepared 8 clinics in 6 cities for this self-vaccination service. The total individual VGR capacity of these 8 clinics is 1.700 participants per day.

Then, slowly, Kimia Farma will expand its reach, including shopping centers in big cities.

The purchase price of the vaccine is set at IDR 321.660 per dose and the maximum tariff for vaccination services is IDR 117.910 per dose. The vaccine used in this program is the Sinopharm vaccine.

4. Kimia Farma Supratman (drive thru), Bandung, capacity of 200 people per day

5. Kimia Farma Citarum, Bandung, capacity of 100 people per day

6. Kimia Farma Sukoharjo, Solo, capacity of 500 people per day

7. Kimia Farma Sedati, Surabaya, capacity of 200 people per day

8. Kimia Farma Batubulan, Bali, capacity of 100 people per day
