Hoax About Deadly Ivermectin, Moeldoko: I Consume Many Times, I'm Healthy

JAKARTA - The case of COVID-19 in the country has recently continued to increase. Reflecting on this condition, the General Chair of the Indonesian Farmers' Association (HKTI) Moeldoko supports the use of Ivermectin as a drug to deal with the COVID-19 pandemic in the country.

Moeldoko said the current craze for the COVID-19 development is a critical situation where some areas have red zone status, even the Bed Occupancy Ratio (BOR) is increasing in use. Therefore, critical thinking and a solution are needed.

"In facing this critical situation, should we be silent? I don't think so. We must do something, silence is a risk of death. Doing something is not necessarily death. It is a choice. It is a wise choice to do something," he said in a virtual discussion, Monday, June 28. .

Furthermore, Moeldoko said that statements from various parties regarding the impact of Ivermectin drugs that can cause death are something that is not wise in the midst of the current critical situation. Based on personal experience, according to him, Ivermectin is safe for consumption.

"I have taken Ivermectin many times, it's healthy. We must understand this to the public so that we don't get caught up in an unproductive debate," he explained.

Therefore, Moeldoko admitted that he is optimistic and fully supports the use of the worm medicine as one of the treatment efforts for COVID-19 patients in the country.

"I as the chairman of HKTI, I support this educational program to introduce closer or closer introduction to Ivermectin as one of the drugs that has been proven effective in healing COVID-19 in various countries," he said.

Furthermore, Moeldoko explained, based on data from the Front Line Covid Critical Care or FLCCC Alliance, 33 countries have used Ivermectin. They include Brazil, Zimbabwe, Japan, and India.

"Based on the American Journal there is a study involving 3,406 participants divided into 15 clinical trials that have proven or proven that Ivermectin can overcome COVID-19 by 90 percent," he said.
