Senior Technical Advisor DHL Express Indonesia Ahmad Mohamad emphasized the importance of equipping young people with experience, skills, and understanding of the world of work from an early age so that they are ready to face the changing labor needs in the future. This commitment is realized by the DHL Group through the GoTeach program which was reintroduced in the Youth Speak Forum (YSF) in Jakarta.

According to Ahmad, direct interaction with young people is an important part of understanding the various opportunities and challenges they face before entering the professional world. Through this approach, DHL can present programs that are more relevant to their needs.

"Interacting directly with young people helps us better understand the opportunities and challenges they face when preparing to enter the workforce," said Ahmad Mohamad in his statement, Friday, August 7.

He explained, through GoTeach, the DHL Group together with SOS Children's Villages presents a practical learning experience, mentoring, and insight into the world of work to increase the participants' confidence and career readiness.

"Through GoTeach, we work with SOS Children's Villages to provide practical learning experiences, mentoring, and insights into the world of work that help them build confidence and prepare for the next step. Bringing participants from Jakarta and Lembang to forums such as the Youth Speak Forum is one way we open up opportunities for them to learn, build connections, and expand their insights," he said.

In the Youth Speak Forum, young participants from SOS Children's Villages Jakarta and Lembang had the opportunity to have a direct dialogue with professionals from various industries. They got an overview of career opportunities, developments in the world of work, and the skills needed in the midst of digital transformation. The participants are beneficiaries of the GoTeach program.

As technology, automation, and digitization rapidly develop, the need for labor skills continues to change. Globally, employers estimate that about 39 percent of core skills will change by 2030. On the other hand, the skills gap is still one of the main challenges faced by various industrial sectors.

To answer this challenge, the DHL Group runs GoTeach as a corporate social responsibility program that focuses on improving the employability of the younger generation through mentoring, career guidance, skills training, and direct experience of the world of work. This program has been carried out globally since 2010 and has been present in Indonesia since 2014 through a partnership with SOS Children's Villages Indonesia.

For more than a decade in Indonesia, GoTeach has reached more than 2,000 young people through at least 55 activities that focus on developing work skills and career readiness. In 2025, more than 230 young people aged 15 to 24 years old in nine locations, including Jakarta and Lembang, will participate in various GoTeach activities. In addition, more than 40 volunteers from DHL Express, DHL Global Forwarding, and DHL Supply Chain have donated more than 2,000 volunteer hours through mentoring, training, facilitation, and career readiness development activities.

In addition to introducing GoTeach, the DHL Group also introduced UPGRADE, an international talent development program that provides opportunities for high-potential young professionals to gain global experience through the company's network in various countries.

Through GoTeach and UPGRADE, the DHL Group hopes to continue to support the development of young Indonesian talent to have the skills, confidence, and readiness needed to thrive in a constantly changing world of work.
