PT Dairi Prima Mineral Promotes the Economy of the People through Training for MSMEs and Craftsmanship

JAKARTA - PT Dairi Prima Mineral (PT DPM) continues to strengthen the economic empowerment of the community around the operational area through the Community Development and Empowerment Program (PPM).

This time the company held two trainings, namely woodcarving and making chips and various wet cakes. The program was compiled based on the mapping of community needs so that it is expected to be able to create new business opportunities that are in line with the potential of the village.

The carpentry training took place on July 23, 2026 and was attended by 12 residents from four mining circle villages. Meanwhile, the food processing training was held on July 27-28, 2026 involving about 26 women's groups.

In food training, participants are taught how to make cassava chips, banana chips, brownies, tape balls, to tart cakes. Meanwhile, the carpentry participants received training on the use of work tools, wood processing techniques, to the manufacture of various furniture products.

Chief Legal and External Relations of PT DPM Radianto Arifin said the company wants people to have skills that can be developed into independent businesses.

According to him, the program not only teaches technical skills, but also equips participants with marketing strategies and business management so that they have the opportunity to develop into sustainable MSMEs.

"We hope that this training can open up new business opportunities and become a sustainable source of income for families," said Radianto.

The carpentry training participant, Sahmin Bako, admitted that he had gained a lot of new knowledge that could be applied to develop businesses in his village.

Meanwhile, Vivi Aprianti, a participant in the cake making training, said that the skills opened up opportunities for women to build home-based businesses while helping to increase family income.
