JAKARTA - The Food and Beverage (F&B) industry in Jakarta continues to show growth in line with the increasing lifestyle trends and entertainment space needs of urban people.
In the midst of this competition, the President Commissioner of Babylon Garden Affair, Rangga Titiswara, prepared a business expansion strategy by strengthening the quality of services to open opportunities to list on the stock exchange.
Rangga said that the F&B business is not just selling food and a place that is visually appealing, but putting the quality of service at the core of the business.
"The F&B business is a service business. Leaders must be able to serve. That is why I chose this field, so that I can provide the best service to the community through our restaurant," said Rangga through a written statement received by VOI, Friday, May 22.
Babylon Garden Affair carries a modern restaurant concept inspired by the grandeur of classic palaces.
The restaurant operates from noon to early morning to target various customer segments, from lunch to evening entertainment.
According to Rangga, the company currently employs around 75 workers, ranging from chefs, baristas, to security officers.
He emphasized the importance of human resource development (HRD), including requiring the transfer of knowledge from foreign experts to local workers.
"We want young Indonesians to have skills that can compete in this industry," he said.
To maintain competitiveness, Babylon Garden Affair also evaluates the menu periodically every two months.
This step is taken to ensure that products remain relevant to market trends and consumer preferences.
"If there are menu items that are rarely ordered, we will find out why. We will continue to evaluate and think about new menus. The point is that there must always be something new so that customers don't get bored," he said.
In addition, the company is preparing a customer satisfaction evaluation system through an independent institution to maintain service standards.
In the long term, Rangga opens the opportunity for companies to conduct initial public offerings or initial public offerings (IPO).
He is optimistic that the prospects for the domestic F&B industry are still wide open, even though global economic challenges and people's purchasing power remain a concern for business actors.
"We want the community to be able to have this restaurant. Therefore, it is not impossible that in the future we are going public. The business vision must be built with neat financial reports and consistent service," he said.
Even though there are always economic challenges, Rangga is still optimistic.
He felt that the government's policies were now enough to support the business world.
However, he advised that Indonesia needs more new entrepreneurs so that employment is wider.
"Our economy is actually fine, it just needs more people who are brave to be entrepreneurs. As leaders, we must always be optimistic and confident that opportunities are always there, as long as we are willing to try," he concluded.
