Reaching Major Buyers Representing 70 Percent of Indonesia's Coal Production, ICEE 2026 Officially Opened in Jakarta

JAKARTA - On May 11, 2026, the Indonesia Coal and Energy Expo 2026 (ICEE 2026) was officially opened at the Jakarta International Expo. Under the theme "Cooperation for New Development in Energy", this exhibition focuses on the utilization of clean coal, green mine development, intelligent mining improvement, and new energy integration. ICEE 2026 is committed to becoming a high-level professional platform that connects Indonesia and China, reaches Southeast Asia, and supports the transformation of the global coal and energy industry.

As an important window for the exchange of the Indonesian and Chinese energy industries, ICEE is not only an industrial exhibition, but also a strategic cooperation mechanism to encourage policy communication, technology exchange, industrial cooperation exploration, and project realization.

In the midst of accelerating global energy structure changes and the deeper transformation of mining towards a green and intelligent direction, ICEE presents a more open, professional, and practical approach, bringing together government agencies, industry associations, leading companies, technology providers, investment institutions, and major buyers to jointly explore new paths for the development of high-quality coal and energy industries.

The opening ceremony of ICEE 2026 was attended by representatives of the government, associations, and energy industry players from Indonesia and China. Chairman of the Indonesian Coal Mining Association, Priyadi; Chief Representative China Council for the Promotion of International Trade Representative Office in Indonesia, Niu Liangliang; and Chairman of Shixin International Exhibition Group Co., Ltd., Cao Linbing, were present and gave speeches.

The opening ceremony was guided by Su Chuanrong, Vice Chairman of the China Council for the Promotion of International Trade Coal Industry Branch. Director General of Mineral and Coal of the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources of the Republic of Indonesia, Tri Winarno, and Vice Chairman of the China National Coal Association, Xie Hongxu, delivered keynote speeches at the main forum, while emphasizing the high standards, professionalism, and international character of the organization of this conference.

Compared to the first implementation, this year's ICEE has undergone a comprehensive improvement in terms of scale, resources, content, and services. The exhibition area reached 20,000 square meters, an increase of more than 30 percent compared to the previous year. More than 150 companies participated, covering the entire industrial chain, from coal exploration, mining, washing and processing, logistics transportation, environmental management, new energy, to intelligent operations and maintenance.

A number of Fortune Global 500, China Top 500, and leading industry companies, including China Coal, China Coal Technology & Engineering Group, Sinopec, Huawei, XCMG Group, Xukuang Group, Shandong Energy, CRRC Datong, LiuGong Machinery, Shaanxi Automobile Group, Taiyuan Heavy Industry, CCCC Tianhe, Longking Environmental Protection, and Cidi Intelligent Driving, were present to showcase cutting-edge technologies, advanced equipment, and integrated solutions in the coal and energy sectors.

On the morning of May 11, the opening ceremony of ICEE 2026 was held at the Junior Ballroom, floor 3, Convention Center, Jakarta International Expo. The series of events includes VIP visits to the exhibition area, opening remarks, opening ceremony, keynote speeches at the Indonesia-China Coal and Energy Conference 2026, thematic presentations from companies, industry panel discussions, and signing of cooperation.

Chairman of Shandong Energy Group, Li Wei; Chairman of China Coal Machinery Industry Association, Yang Shuyong; Deputy General Manager of China Coal Energy Group, Ni Jiayu; Deputy General Manager of China Coal Technology & Engineering Group, Lei Huang; and President of Huawei Mining Corps, Wu Haiyu, also shared their in-depth views on Indonesian-Chinese energy cooperation, the improvement of intelligent mining, the utilization of clean coal, and green transformation.

In the thematic discussion session, Chairman of PT Ucoal Sumberdaya, FH. Kristiono; Head of Public Relations of the Indonesian Mining Services Association, Ardhi IshaSk; Chairman of the China Coal Processing & Utilization Association, Ma Jian; and Chairman of the China Coal Machinery Industry Association, Yang Shuyong, discussed industrial cooperation, technology implementation, and improvement of mining services.

After that, Shanghai Ganglian E-Commerce Holdings Co., Ltd. and the Indonesian Kerosene Industry Association signed a cooperation agreement at the event location, encouraging cooperation in coal trade and industry synergy between the two countries from the exchange stage to actual implementation.

To strengthen the delivery of industry insights, on May 12, the exhibition will also hold the Indonesia International Clean Coal Utilization and Green Mining Conference 2026. This conference will focus on green mine development, intelligent transformation, new energy substitution, and carbon emission reduction pathways. Representatives from the Indonesian Mining Services Association, Huawei, REPT Battero, LiuGong, Xuzhou Mining Group, XCMG Group, Yunding Technology, and Xapiens will provide thematic presentations.

On this occasion, Huawei will also launch digital and smart solutions for the Indonesian mining industry, to present technology pathways and ideas for cooperation that can be implemented to support green and low-carbon transformation in the Indonesian mining sector.

According to the organizers, this year's opening ceremony and conference series are expected to be attended by more than 300 industry guests, with nearly 50 speakers, speakers, and discussion participants. The exhibition is expected to attract 15,000 professional visits. Through the integration of member networks from two major associations in Indonesia, the specially invited professional audience covers about 70 percent of the total local coal production.

More than 600 buyers, including Indonesia's major coal producing companies and leading mining services companies, attended with clear needs, creating an efficient meeting path between exhibitors, major mining companies, mining services providers, and industry decision makers.

During the implementation of ICEE 2026, a number of activities were also held in parallel, including the Indonesia International Clean Coal Utilization and Green Mining Conference 2026, a special session on coal trade, a targeted B2B meeting, an exhibition of cutting-edge technology and products, and a special area for Indonesian-Chinese cooperation projects.

The special session on coal trade will present a number of important guests, including the Vice Chairman of the China Coal Transportation and Distribution Association, Zhao Jianguo; Chairman of the Logistics Committee of the Indonesian Coal Mining Association; Director of PT Indo Tambangraya Megah Tbk, Tulus Situmeang; Executive Vice Chairman of the Guangdong Energy Transportation and Marketing Association, He Yudan; and Executive Deputy General Manager of the International Business Department of China Risun Group, Jiao Yong. The speakers will jointly discuss Indonesian-Chinese coal trade, logistics, customs, credit, and long-term cooperation mechanisms.

The ICEE organizers said that Indonesia is one of the important energy markets in Southeast Asia, while China has mature experience and strong industrial capabilities in the use of clean coal, mining equipment, digital management, and green transformation. The main value of ICEE lies in its ability to build a long-term, credible, and efficient exchange and cooperation platform, based on mutual complementarity between the energy industries of the two countries.

Going forward, ICEE will continue to strengthen its credibility and influence as an industry platform, encouraging the formation of a closer network of cooperation between the government, associations, companies, and capital from Indonesia and China. This platform is expected to provide technological and industrial support for the improvement of the Indonesian energy sector, as well as create a more certain cooperation gateway for Chinese companies to deepen their presence in Indonesia and connect with the Southeast Asian market, jointly promoting the region's energy industry towards a greener, smarter, and sustainable future.
