Jakarta - Finance Minister Purbaya Yudhi Sadewa revealed that the government is discussing plans to strengthen non-tax state revenues or PNBP from the oil and gas sector.
The discussion was held together with Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources Bahlil Lahadalia. One of the projects mentioned was the pipanization of gas from Sumatra to Java.
"It's not a subsidy, but we are discussing his plan to strengthen the PNBP from the oil and gas sector. The plan is quite good," said Purbaya at the Attorney General's Office, Wednesday, May 13, 2026.
Purbaya said there was a gas pipeline project from Sumatra to Java that had not been fully connected. If the part that was still disconnected was worked on, gas supplies from Sumatra could flow directly to Java.
"There is a gas pipanization project from Sumatra to Java. In the middle, there are still things that have not been done," he said.
According to Purbaya, the project will be even more important if the Andaman gas field is completed. Gas from the region can be directly channeled into the Sumatra-Java line.
"If the Andaman field is completed, it can be transferred directly to Sumatra-Java," he said.
Purbaya has not explained the details of the project, the value of the investment, nor the schedule for its implementation. He said that the official explanation would be given by Bahlil.
"Later Pak Bahlil will announce it," said Purbaya.
On the same occasion, Purbaya also explained the plan to reduce the interest rate on supermicro loans in accordance with President Prabowo Subianto's instructions. The interest rate for prosperous families is targeted to fall below 9 percent.
According to Purbaya, the interest subsidy will be partly shifted from the People's Business Credit or KUR scheme. Andantara is still calculating his budget needs.
"The first step is to ensure that supermicro can get low interest rates below 9 percent, as directed by the President," he said.
