JAKARTA - PT Hutama Karya (Persero) or HK has partnered with the Attorney General's Office (Kejagung) to accelerate the land acquisition process in the construction of the Trans Sumatra Toll Road (JTTS).

Currently, there are three JTTS projects that still have land acquisition progress, namely the Palembang-Betung section, the Betung-Tempino-Jambi section, and the planned construction of the Pematang Panggang-Kayu Agung section of the Mataram Jaya Access Section.

Acting Executive Vice President (EVP) Corporate Secretary of Hutama Karya Hamdani said that the collaboration of all parties was the key to accelerating the completion of the National Strategic Project (PSN), especially in terms of land procurement.

"Through intensive and collaborative coordination, Hutama Karya hopes that the land acquisition process can run more optimally, so that the construction of the toll road can be completed according to target," said Hamdani as quoted from a written statement, Saturday, May 9.

He said that the operational target of the Palembang-Betung and Betung-Jambi sections 1, which was set by the government, was the end of 2026. The company targets that land procurement can be completed in June 2026, so that in July 2026 construction activities at these locations can be carried out.

Currently, the construction progress of the Palembang-Betung Toll Road has reached 81.99 percent with land acquisition progress of 87.45 percent. Meanwhile, the construction progress of the Betung-Tempino-Jambi section has reached 46.14 percent with land acquisition progress of 61.62 percent.

Meanwhile, the Pematang Panggang-Kayu Agung section of the Mataram Jaya Access Section is currently still in the land acquisition phase.

"We hope that the support and synergy of all stakeholders can continue to be intertwined to accelerate the completion of the toll road project in South Sumatra as part of the development of connectivity and economic growth in the region on the island of Sumatra," he added.

Through close collaboration between the central government, local governments, law enforcement officers and the Toll Road Business Entity (BUJT), it is hoped that various land acquisition challenges can be immediately resolved. Thus, the development of the project runs optimally and is able to provide connectivity benefits for the community.
