Breaking into the European Market, SIG Perdana Exports 11,275 MT of Cement to Reunion Island, France

JAKARTA - Without hesitation, the expansion step taken by PT Semen Indonesia (Persero) Tbk (SIG) to expand the export market is now reaching more countries. After recently penetrating the market on the African continent, SIG is now expanding its export reach to the European market by making the first shipment of 11,275 metric tons (MT) of cement to Reunion Island, France, through the Bayur Bay Port of PT Semen Padang.

The shipment of 11,275 MT of cement is the first phase of a total of 31,500 MT to be exported to Reunion Island during the period May - July 2026.

SIG President Director, Indrieffouny Indra said, exports to Reunion Island are an achievement that shows SIG's commitment to continue strengthening the Company's position in the global market to create long-term added value. This achievement is also a recognition of the superiority of SIG's environmentally friendly cement products.

"The SIG initiative to present environmentally friendly green cement has become a competitive advantage for the Company. Cement with CEM I 52.5 N type produced by SIG which is exported to Reunion Island has succeeded in obtaining CE (Conformité Européenne) Marking which is a mandatory mark to show that the product has met the safety, health, and environmental protection standards set by the European Union," said Indrieffouny Indra, in his statement, Monday, May 4.

Indrieffouny Indra added that Reunion Island which is part of the French territory is a potential market with high prospects for infrastructure growth. Therefore, in the future, SIG hopes to export other building materials products, to meet the construction needs in the region.

"In addition to strengthening the domestic market, SIG also continues to maximize the potential of the global market to increase utility and performance growth, as well as demonstrate the quality of SIG's environmentally friendly products to contribute to supporting sustainable development in various countries," said Indrieffouny Indra.

Semen exports to Reunion Island are part of SIG's transformation strategy to expand the market and increase utilization. In its realization, SIG collaborates with strategic partners that focus on providing sustainable solutions for the global market, especially products with low carbon emissions such as cement. This collaboration is expected to be the foundation of a long-term partnership that supports the provision of quality construction materials for sustainable development in Reunion Island.
