JAKARTA - The Ministry of Public Works (PU) has completed the construction of three Nutrition Fulfillment Service Units (SPPG) in the Bangka Belitung Islands Province which are designed to be earthquake-resistant and ready to support the operation of the Free Nutritious Meal (MBG) program.

The three SPPGs are located in Namang Village, Central Bangka Regency, as well as Belo Laut Village and Jebus Village in West Bangka Regency.

All construction has been completed 100 percent and prepared to support nutritional fulfillment services for the community, especially in the archipelago with accessibility challenges.

Minister PU Dody Hanggodo said the construction of the SPPG not only presents kitchen facilities, but also an infrastructure ecosystem that supports comprehensive nutrition services.

"The construction of this SPPG not only includes the main kitchen, but also supporting facilities such as access roads, clean water networks and sanitation. This is important to ensure healthy and affordable nutrition services for schoolchildren," said Dody, quoted from a written statement, Monday, May 4.

The SPPG building in Bangka Belitung was built with a 20x20 meter type and designed according to the characteristics of the archipelago.

Construction planning takes into account the land contour, soil characteristics, and coastal climate challenges so that buildings remain safe, sturdy, and functional.

The structural system used includes steel modular, hollow frame and restrained brick pairs to provide construction flexibility while strengthening the building's resistance.

The facility is also designed to be earthquake resistant up to the Sds parameter of ≤ 0.800g and wind resistance up to 39 meters per second so that the building remains safe and functions optimally.

In addition to the main building, each SPPG is equipped with supporting facilities such as Wastewater Treatment Facilities (IPAL), air ventilation, fire suppression system, backup power generators, CCTV, and information and communication technology (ICT) networks.

The three SPPGs were built after the location met the readiness criteria or land readiness requirements and technical documents and were ensured to be in a safe location and in accordance with the construction provisions.

The construction of three SPPG in Bangka Belitung is carried out by PT Adhi Karya (Persero) Tbk as the implementing contractor with construction management by PT Ciriajasa Cipta Mandiri.

The Ministry of PU hopes that the presence of SPPG can strengthen the quality of human resources through nutritional fulfillment since school age, as well as encourage local economic activities through the supply chain of food and labor in the region.
