Abpednas Partners with the Prosecutor's Office to Strengthen Village Fund Transparency, Here's the Impact on the Economy

JAKARTA - The National Village Consultative Agency Association (Abpednas) strengthens village financial governance through collaboration with the Indonesian Attorney General through the Village Guard Prosecutor (Jaga Desa) program.

This initiative is considered to be a catalyst for increasing transparency and encouraging the effectiveness of village spending for the local economy.

Abpednas Chairman Indra Utama said that the role of the Village Consultative Agency (BPD) is not only to convey the aspirations of the community, but also to maintain the quality of democracy and ensure that village policies are targeted.

The Jaga Desa program, which was initiated by the Deputy Attorney General for Intelligence Reda Manthovani since 2023, presents an integrated village financial reporting system based on collaborative supervision.

With this scheme, the use of village funds is not only absorbed, but also directed to have a direct impact on the welfare of the community.

"We want to ensure that every rupiah of village funds really reaches the community without causing legal problems," said Reda.

The Attorney General of the Republic of Indonesia, ST Burhanuddin, emphasized that this program is part of strengthening the accountability of village governments while minimizing the risk of budget irregularities.

From a macro perspective, strengthening village governance is considered in line with the national development agenda, especially the equitable distribution of village-based economy which is one of the government's priorities.

Special Presidential Envoy for Energy and Environment Hashim Djojohadikusumo added that supervision was also crucial to ensure strategic programs such as Free Nutritious Meals were effective in the field.

As a form of appreciation, Abpednas together with PT Navaswara Bhuwana Kencana held the 2026 Village Guard Awards in Jakarta.

This event awards villages with the best performance in financial management, data compliance, to public education innovation through short films.

This step is expected to accelerate the standardization of village governance, as well as strengthen the role of villages as the engine of community-based economic growth.
