JAKARTA - PT PLN (Persero) supplies high voltage electricity with a capacity of 250 Megavolt Ampere (MVA) to PT Indah Kiat Pulp & Paper (IKPP) Karawang Mill, West Java.

PLN's Retail and Commercial Director, Adi Priyanto, explained that this electricity connection is a strategic step in supporting the expansion of the national pulp and paper industry.

"To support this power connection, previously PLN through the Central Java Development Unit (UIP) has operated the 150-kilovolt (kV) High Voltage Air Channel (SUTT) project Telukjambe - KTT IKK (Indah Kiat Karawang) with a line length of 8.481 kilometers circuit (kms)," he said, Tuesday, April 14.

With a power capacity of 250 MVA, continued Adi, the company which operates in the pulp, paper, tissue, and carton packaging industries, is projected to increase production capacity for brown industrial products and industrial white, while opening up the potential for labor absorption up to 2,500 people, both directly and indirectly.
