JAKARTA - The Ministry of Public Works (PU) opened a recruitment of Community Assistants (TPM) to support the implementation of the Irrigation Water Management Improvement Acceleration Program (P3TGAI) for the 2026 Fiscal Year (FY).

The program will be implemented in around 12,000 locations throughout Indonesia.

Minister PU Dody Hanggodo said that labor-intensive programs such as P3TGAI have an important role in encouraging equitable development and improving people's welfare.

"This program is an important instrument to ensure that the benefits of development can be felt evenly across all levels of society. By involving local residents in development, labor-intensive jobs open up employment opportunities, reduce unemployment and increase people's purchasing power," said Dody, quoted from a written statement, Monday, April 6.

In addition to providing economic impact, the program is also designed to strengthen the role of the community in infrastructure development through the pattern of self-management.

Through this scheme, development funds are directly circulated at the village level and at the same time foster a sense of ownership of the irrigation infrastructure that is being built.

Along with the expansion of the program in 2026, the need for TPM is crucial to ensure that implementation is effective in the field.

The Deputy Minister will accompany groups of farmers such as the Association of Farmers Using Water (P3A), the Association of P3A (GP3A) and the Parent of P3A (IP3A) starting from the planning stage, the implementation of simple construction to the management of administrative activities.

In addition, the Deputy Minister also plays a role in maintaining the quality of work in the field, assisting in the preparation of reports and providing technical assistance to the community so that irrigation management becomes more efficient and sustainable.

One of the technical implementing units of the Ministry of PU, namely the Pompengan Jeneberang River Basin Agency (BBWS), has opened online TPM registration from April 2 to April 5, 2026.

The selection process includes administrative stages, written tests and interviews, with the final results announced planned for April 17, 2026.

The selection is open to all Indonesian citizens (WNI) who meet the requirements, with priority for those who have experience in the field of community empowerment and irrigation management.

Registration is carried out online through the official P3TGAI website or link https://bit.ly/P3TGAI2026BBWSPOMJEN by completing the required administrative documents.
