JAKARTA - The implementation of the 2025 Pertamina Grand Prix of Indonesia motor racing event at the Pertamina Mandalika International Circuit managed to record a national economic impact of IDR 4.96 trillion.

The achievement is based on a study compiled by LETMI ITB. This result confirms that the MotoGP event in the Mandalika area is not only an international sports event, but also makes a real contribution to the national and regional economies.

Overall, this event managed to attract 140,324 spectators with hotel occupancy rates reaching 100 percent in the Mandalika area. Meanwhile, the average occupancy on Lombok Island reached 93 percent and in Mataram City 90 percent.

Not only that, more than 600 local MSMEs were involved in this activity, and absorbed more than 3,000 workers, 67 percent of whom were from Central Lombok Regency.

Based on the LETMI ITB study, continued Troy, the economic impact generated includes increased tourism activities, local economic turnover, job creation, to strengthening Indonesia's image at the global level.

Troy also said that the development of the Mandalika area is a long-term investment in building a sport tourism ecosystem in Indonesia that is able to integrate the sports sector, the tourism sector and the development of the local economy, including MSMEs.
