SURABAYA - Minister of Cooperatives (Menkop) Ferry Juliantono stated that the existence of the Red and White Village / Village Cooperative (KDKMP) opens up great opportunities to promote local products and Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs).
"What is sold (at the KDKMP outlet), we hope, we offer to the MSME actors that we curate and then incubate," he said in a statement received in Surabaya, East Java, Sunday.
Ferry said that in general, KDKMP outlets will sell basic necessities and medicines as well as needs and potential in each region.
However, as many as 83,000 KDKMP in Indonesia can also be a platform for the sale of local products and MSMEs.
Ferry asked the Indonesian people not to be afraid to create their own products, including not having to worry and be confused about the marketing process of their products.
"It's not that I underestimate our ability, in the past if MSMEs made products, they were afraid that they would not sell well in modern retail, they wanted to export, and they ended up undermining our confidence in making our own products," he said.
He wants the Indonesian people to create creative products and sell them at KDKMP outlets in their respective regions.
In fact, according to Ferry, people can start by making simple products such as soap, shampoo, detergent, sambal, soy sauce, sambal, sauce, food, bread, and so on.
Later, he said, the government and partners would incubate and refine these local products so that they are viable and have added value to be sold in the KDKMP store showcase.
He said that the Rolling Fund Management Institution (LPDB) and large-scale cooperatives such as the Indonesian Port Cooperative (Kopelindo) also have the opportunity to help and finance UMKM products.
"I guarantee that these products will be prioritized, sold in all KDKMP outlets. Let's build our confidence to make local products that exist in our respective regions," said Ferry.
He emphasized that if the community is able to massively and actively create local products until they become products sold at KDKMP and consumed by residents, there will be a sustainable economic circulation.
This activity, he added, will also be able to create a very wide job opportunity, especially for Generation Z and Millennials who are currently in need of jobs.
"Don't be afraid of not selling, I make sure that the local products that we curate and incubate will be sold on the front shelves at KDKMP," said Ferry Juliantono.
