JAKARTA - Entering the Lebaran 1447 H transportation period, KAI Logistics is again synergizing with its parent company, PT Kereta Api Indonesia (Persero), in supporting the optimization of railway operations. This synergy is realized through the delivery of four units of hydraulic locomotives to strengthen the readiness of passenger railway operational facilities during the period of increased community mobility.
VP of Corporate Secretary KAI Logistics, Dwi Wulandari, said "The trust given by the parent company is a continuation of the previous collaboration in the cross-island asset maximization program. Previously, KAI Logistics had successfully mobilized 12 locomotive units from Sumatra Island to Java Island to support operational needs. With this additional fleet, the readiness of facilities in the Java operational area is expected to be more optimal in facing the surge in community mobility during Lebaran transportation," he said in a written statement, Monday, March 23.
The process of sending the locomotives is carried out through the KALOG Pro service in the Project Logistics segment, which has special capabilities in handling the delivery of logistics needs with heavy cargo categories. At this delivery stage, KAI Logistics mobilized two units of BB203 series locomotives and two units of BB303 series locomotives with a total weight of 232 tons. All handling processes are carried out with strict operational standards, starting from the loading process, securing the unit during the journey.
Dwi explained that the distribution of locomotives had started since the end of February and was carried out through an integrated multimodal line.
"The distribution of locomotives began on February 28, 2026 with the delivery route from Belawan Station in Divre I North Sumatra to JICT Station in the Daop 1 Jakarta area. The entire delivery process was completed on March 9, faster than the target that had been determined thanks to the implementation of an optimal and efficient operational work pattern at every stage," said Dwi.
As a company that has obtained the Multimodal Transportation Business Entity (BUAM) permit, KAI Logistics is able to integrate various modes of transportation in the cross-regional logistics distribution process. This integration ensures that the transfer of locomotives from the origin to the destination can run safely, efficiently, and with minimal technical obstacles.
The type of locomotive sent is a hydraulic diesel locomotive which is known to have high operational flexibility in supporting various railway travel needs. With these characteristics, this locomotive is expected to further strengthen the reliability of railway facilities in supporting the smooth operation of passenger trains.
Through this step, KAI Logistics confirms its commitment to supporting the reliability of national railway transportation operations on an ongoing basis. The synergy within the KAI Group is expected to maintain the smooth running of train services during the Lebaran transportation period, while ensuring that people's journeys take place safely, comfortably, and on time.
