JAKARTA - PT Perusahaan Gas Negara (Persero) Tbk (PGAS) has allocated capital expenditure (CAPEX) of US$ 353 million in 2026. This figure is an increase of 14 percent compared to 2025.

PGN President Director Arief Kurnia Risdianto explained that this allocation is intended to strengthen the development of integrated natural gas infrastructure and support national energy security, while optimizing the role of natural gas as a transition energy.

According to him, the company's strategy in 2026 will focus on integrated, credible, and sustainable growth.

"PGN's strategic direction in 2026 is focused on operational strengthening, business portfolio consolidation, and selective value-added business expansion. All of this is balanced with a disciplined financial strategy and full commitment to the implementation of Health, Safety, Security, and Environment (HSSE) aspects in every line," said Arief, March 10.

He added, as an effort to bring closer and more reliable energy for the community and industrial customers, PGN allocated CAPEX of US$ 219 million for the development of transmission and distribution infrastructure, both pipeline and beyond pipeline such as Compressed Natural Gas (CNG) and Liquefied Natural Gas (LNG).

Arief detailed that several priority projects include customer attachment, expansion of the household gas network (jargas) in the Sumatra and Java regions, the construction of the Tegal-Cilacap Pipe and the extension of the Sei Mangkei Pipe, as well as the development of a regasification terminal in East Java.

On the other hand, PGN also continues to develop low carbon business as a long-term growth engine, including biomethane initiatives.

Meanwhile, upstream, PGN allocated CAPEX of US$ 134 million to optimize exploration performance and increase oil and gas lifting. The main program includes drilling activities in the Pangkah, Ketapang, and Fasken Work Areas (WK), extension of the cooperation work contract (KKKS) in the Pangkah WK, and the implementation of 3D seismic surveys and processing.

"To ensure the achievement of operational performance targets, we strengthen the HSSE aspect with a target of Zero accidents. Meanwhile, for sustainability commitment, we target a reduction in emissions of 35,000 tons of CO2 equivalent," said Arief.
