JAKARTA - The United States (US) government has provided 2.4 million US dollars to support the development of the Nusantara Capital City (IKN).

Head of the Nusantara Capital Authority (OIKN) Basuki Hadimuljono explained that the funds were channeled through the U.S. Trade and Development Agency (USTDA) to finance technical assistance for smart city solutions.

Later, the grant will be used to accelerate the digital transformation of Nusantara.

The project aims to produce an integrated smart infrastructure blueprint, ready for investment and meeting global standards.

"Our vision is clear, the archipelago must become a green, sustainable and fundamentally smart city," said Basuki as quoted from a written statement, Friday, February 27.

The technical assistance will include the preparation of the architecture of the smart city company, a ready-made tender document package, and a financial investment model.

In addition, the document will also contain a framework that is compliant with environmental, social and governance (ESG) principles.

Meanwhile, Frost & Sullivan America Board Member and project director of this initiative, Subhranshu Sekhar Das explained, the grant project was carried out by the Eficens Systems Inc consortium as the main technical executor.

The consortium is comprised of Frost & Sullivan, ASECH Indonesia, Mirekel, and PT Searce Technologies Indonesia, which is a partner of Google Cloud Platform.

"Nusantara has the opportunity to become more than just a smart city, Nusantara can evolve into a cognitive city and has the potential to become a global reference model," he explained.

Subhranshu added that the use of agenttic AI and federated knowledge platforms will be key in optimizing city governance.

The transformation will shift the paradigm from static digital infrastructure to an adaptive intelligence system for public services.
