JAKARTA - Minister of Public Works (PU) Dody Hanggodo proposed an additional budget of Rp. 37 trillion in the 2026 Fiscal Year (TA).

Additional budget is needed to implement a number of Presidential Instructions (Inpres) carried out by the PU Ministry.

In detail, Dody proposed an additional budget of Rp. 15 trillion for the implementation of Presidential Decree Number 2 of 2025.

The Presidential Decree is for irrigation management of an area of 500,000 hectares, but until now it has not been allocated in DIPA 2026 because the location point is still under discussion.

"Indeed, per second it has not been allocated to DIPA 2026 because the points are being discussed together with Bappenas," said Dody in a Working Meeting with Commission V of the DPR at the Parliament Complex, Senayan, Jakarta, Wednesday, February 4.

Next, Presidential Decree Number 7 of 2025 requires an allocation of Rp. 2.72 trillion for the rehabilitation of 1,000 religious schools.

Currently, the budget that has been allocated in the PU Ministry's DIPA 2026 is IDR 2.5 trillion, so an additional IDR 220 billion is still needed.

Additional budget is also needed for Presidential Instruction Number 8 of 2025 regarding the construction of People's Schools.

The total budget needs for the program reached Rp. 25 trillion for the construction of 204 units of People's Schools in 2026, while the available allocation is only close to Rp. 20 trillion.

"So we still need an additional budget of Rp5 trillion," he said.

The PU Ministry also proposed additional funds for Presidential Decree Number 11 of 2025 concerning regional roads.

The program requires a budget of Rp. 16.20 trillion for the improvement of regional roads along 2,191 kilometers (km), the construction of new roads along 231 km, and the construction of regional bridges along 589 meters (m).

However, Dody said the allocation in the 2026 DIPA for the program was only IDR 1.2 trillion. Therefore, he proposed an additional budget of around IDR 15 trillion.

"Currently, it has been allocated in the 2026 Budget Year DIPA of Rp. 1.2 trillion, but we still need an additional Rp. 15 trillion," he explained.

Additional budget proposals were proposed for Presidential Decree Number 14 of 2025 concerning the acceleration of the development of food, energy and water self-sufficiency in Wanam, South Papua.

The budget needs in 2026 reached IDR 4.78 trillion which will be used, among others, for flood control of 7,500 hectares (ha), the construction of an irrigation network of 7,480 hectares, and the opening of roads along 138.5 km.

For this program, the budget that has been allocated in the Ministry of PU 2026 DIPA is only IDR 3.25 trillion.

Thus, an additional budget of around Rp1.53 trillion is still needed.

"So the total proposed additional budget needed to implement all presidential instructions for the 2026 Fiscal Year is estimated at almost Rp. 37 trillion," he added.
