JAKARTA - Director of Corporate Valuation of PT Bursa Efek Indonesia (BEI) I Gede Nyoman Yetna said that the announcement of Morgan Stanley Capital International (MSCI), will not affect the Initial Public Offering (IPO) in the Indonesian capital market.

Nyoman ensures that the IDX is always selective in granting approval to companies that submit documents to carry out IPOs in the Indonesian capital market.

"My interest in becoming a listed company I don't see a decline, in this context I see from the submission side it hasn't changed, it's just that we will later ensure that the companies that enter are in line with the expectations we hope for as regulators," said Nyoman to the media at the BEI Media Center, Jakarta, quoted by Antara, Thursday, January 29.

Looking back to last year, Nyoman reminded that the number of companies that submitted IPO documents was recorded as many, or did not decrease compared to the previous year.

Indeed, the number of companies that carried out IPOs last year decreased, however, Nyoman reminded that the average amount of funds that were successfully raised through IPO actions grew significantly to Rp700 trillion.

"If you look at the number of companies, it is relatively down, but the proceeds have increased on average, which was only Rp350 trillion if we average the proceeds in the last year to Rp700 billion on average per company," said Nyoman.

Thus, according to him, there has been an increase in classes in IPO actions, which include middle-class to upper-class companies.

"There has been a scale up from the previous class, which was relatively small, to the middle and upper classes, and that is what we hope to increase the depth of our market, size is also a concern," said Nyoman.

On the other hand, his party will not forget to continue to encourage micro, small and medium enterprises (MSMEs) to carry out the initial listing of shares on the Indonesian capital market.

"But the company that is SME we still give the opportunity to prospective companies, these are the two sides that we will grow, so there is no direct impact on the information that was asked because we see that the number is also relatively not decreasing from before," said Nyoman.
