JAKARTA - PT Pertamina EP and the Special Working Unit for Upstream Oil and Gas Business Implementation Activities (SKK Migas) officially started the fabrication phase of the Gas Dehydration Package as part of the Bamboo Red Field Development Project (BMH) which is integrated with the Cilamaya North Gathering Station (SP CLU) by the end of 2025.

Manager of Pertamina EP Zone 7 Project, Ahmad Firdaus Fasa explained, the implementation of the First Cutting Ceremony took place at the Fabricator Workshop in Cikarang, West Java, which marked the start of an important phase in the construction of oil and gas production facilities in the Subang area.

"The first cut of steel activity was carried out to start work on the fabrication of the gas dehydration unit or Dehydration Unit (DHU) and scrubber, which is an integral part of the increase in the processing capacity of the Red Bamboo gas," he said, Tuesday, January 27.

He explained that this project was carried out within the scope of the Optimization of Field Development (OPLL) of the Red Bamboo - South Cilamaya and the Authorization for Expenditure (AFE) approved by SKK Migas.

The development of the Bambu Merah Field is designed to optimize the utilization of facilities that have been in the SP CLU through follow-up on the improvement of production facilities. After completion, oil production will be channeled to the Cilamaya Booster Station (BS).

Meanwhile, the gas is processed to meet the sales specifications before being sent to the Cilamaya Gas Compressor Station (SKG) and combined with gas production from other fields. To ensure good environmental management, the produced water will be injected back into injection wells through the Water Injection Plant (WIP) at SP CLU.

Overall, the development of the Red Bamboo structure is projected to produce a peak production of 8 million standard cubic feet per day (MMSCFD) of gas and 300 barrels of fluid per day (BLPD) of oil or 292.5 barrels of oil per day (BOPD), net.

The facilities developed include a gas scrubber with a capacity of 8 MMSCFD, a dehydration unit (DHU) with a capacity of 9 MMSCFD, the addition of three gas compressor units with a capacity of 0.5 MMSCFD, as well as other supporting facilities.

"This fabrication phase is an important milestone for the Red Bamboo project. We are committed to carrying out all work by prioritizing safety, quality, and compliance with regulations," he said.

The fabrication work is carried out by a partner, PT Bahana Karya Mandiri, with a duration of 280 calendar days starting December 5, 2025. After the fabrication phase is completed, the DHU package will be sent to SP CLU in mid-September 2026, then followed by construction and commissioning for two months. Pertamina EP Zone 7 targets this new facility to be operational (startup/onstream) in November 2026.
