JAKARTA - The State-Owned Enterprise Management Agency (BP) has ensured that the plan to form a logistics transportation holding company by merging or merging state-owned enterprises in the maritime and logistics transportation sector is still ongoing.

The focus of the current discussion still includes three state-owned enterprises, namely PT Pelni (Persero), PT Pelabuhan Indonesia (Persero) or Pelindo, and PT ASDP Indonesia Ferry (Persero).

Deputy Head of BP BUMN Aminuddin Ma'ruf said that discussions related to the logistics transportation BUMN did not stop and would continue in accordance with the big framework of the national BUMN arrangement.

Furthermore, Aminuddin explained, the discussion on the restructuring of the logistics transportation SOEs is in line with the government's major agenda in streamlining the number of SOEs. The big framework for arranging the red plate companies in the figure of 200 SOEs overall.

"Yes (it is still continuing). The big framework is indeed heading for 220 BUMN at once," said Aminuddin when met at the Coordinating Ministry for Food and Agriculture Office, Jakarta, Monday, December 29.

Aminuddin emphasized that until now the focus of restructuring the sector is still on the three SOEs. Meanwhile, PT Pos Indonesia (Persero) has not entered the same cluster.

"Still three," he said briefly when asked whether PT Pos was also included in the logistics transportation holding.

Regarding the difference in business models between ASDP, Pelni, and Pelindo, Aminuddin assessed that it was not a hindrance. According to him, the study has been carried out and now it is only in the implementation stage.

"No, we have already studied it. It just has to be executed later," he concluded.

Previously, ASDP President Director Heru Widodo admitted that until now his party had not received any further updates regarding the merger of the logistics transportation SOEs that had previously emerged.

"If we as SOEs will certainly follow what the decision of Danantara is. But until now we have not received an update again regarding the merger of several SOEs that are included in the logistics cluster," said Heru when met at the ASDP office, Jakarta, Monday, December 15.

Heru said that in the discourse there were several SOEs that were said to be in one cluster, including ASDP, Pelni, Pelindo, to PT Pos Indonesia.

"If I'm not mistaken, yesterday there was ASDP, then PELNI, Pelindo, and PT Pos. But until now we haven't received any further updates," he said.

As a state-owned enterprise, ASDP is in principle ready to follow the policies set by shareholders, including if it is decided to merge.

"Whatever the form of the decision of the Danantara, we will follow it," he said.

When asked when the last discussion regarding the merger was held, Heru admitted that it had been quite a while and until now there had been no recent developments.

"It's been a long time. We are still waiting for an update from Danantara. In principle, we will participate," he said.
