JAKARTA - PT Indonesia Weda Bay Industrial Park (IWIP) has distributed humanitarian assistance in the form of logistics packages of basic needs and funding support to communities affected by floods and landslides in Aceh, West Sumatra, and North Sumatra provinces.

The assistance is part of IWIP's commitment and concern for disaster-affected communities, as well as to support emergency handling efforts and meet basic needs in affected areas. IWIP hopes that this assistance will help alleviate the burden on the community and support the recovery process in the early stages after the disaster.

The logistical assistance distributed includes basic food, medicine, baby and child needs, as well as sanitation and hygiene supplies. All logistical assistance is distributed through the National Disaster Management Agency (BNPB) Assistance Reception Post at Halim Perdanakusuma, Jakarta, in coordination with the central and regional governments and related institutions to ensure that distribution is carried out quickly, accurately, and according to the needs in the field.

The person in charge of the Halim Perdanakusuma Logistics Assistance Reception Post, Jakarta, said that the logistics assistance received would be immediately sent to the disaster handling post points in Aceh, West Sumatra, and North Sumatra.

"This distribution is carried out to support the fulfillment of the basic needs of affected people as well as strengthening emergency response efforts and the initial stages of recovery," said the BNPB representative.

In addition to logistical assistance, IWIP also channeled funding support of IDR 900 million which was coordinated through the government and disaster management agencies. This funding support is directed to support the priority needs of disaster management, including emergency assistance and the initial stages of recovery in the affected areas.

The flood and landslide disasters that occurred in a number of areas have caused damage to settlements and public facilities, as well as disrupted access to transportation, electricity, and communication, thus directly impacting the fulfillment of people's basic needs.

"We express our deepest condolences to all communities affected by the disaster. IWIP hopes that this humanitarian assistance can provide real benefits and support the efforts to handle and recover in the affected areas," said Scott Ye, Director of PT Indonesia Weda Bay Industrial Park, in a statement, Friday, December 19.

IWIP is committed to continuing to carry out social and humanitarian responsibility initiatives as part of the company's contribution to supporting community resilience and disaster management in Indonesia.
