ASDP Predicts Peak Nataru Homecoming Flows to Occur on December 24

JAKARTA - President Director of PT ASDP Indonesia Ferry (Persero) Heru Widodo revealed that the highest peak of movement in the Christmas 2025 and New Year 2026 (Nataru) homecoming period will occur on Christmas Eve.

Heru explained that passenger movements would occur again before the New Year. He said the movement began to be seen on December 29.

"And it is likely that it will rise again on the 29th, 30th and 31st, it will happen again at the peak flow," he said.

Meanwhile, Director of Operations and Transformation, Rio Theodore Natalianto Lasse said for the Nataru period, ASDP projected the number of trips (trips) would increase by 5.4 percent compared to the previous year.

Rio said that there were 15 national monitoring routes of ASDP which were predicted to have a movement of up to 20,943 trips, with a number of passengers of more than 547,000 people and vehicles exceeding 868,000 units during.

According to Rio, the number of passengers at Nataru this time increased by 4.3 percent. Meanwhile, vehicles increased by 8.9 percent.

"The highest if we look at it is two-wheeled vehicles, it has increased by 15.2 percent. Then trucks 7.4 percent (vehicles) four-wheeled small vehicles have increased by 5.9 percent. Buses have increased by 5 percent. Overall, everything has increased," he said.

To accommodate the high public interest, Rio said the capacity of the ship during the peak Nataru period would be increased. Capacity additions are different at each port.

"Merak-Bakauheni from 28 ships to 33 ships per day with a capacity of 31,000 small vehicles. Then, Ketapang-Gilimanuk from 28 ships to 34 ships per day with a capacity of approximately 15,000 small vehicles per day," he said.
