Minister Of Transportation Targets JIS And Karet-BNI City Stations To Operate Before Nataru

JAKARTA - Minister of Transportation (Menhub) Dudy Purwagandhi targets the Jakarta International Stadium (JIS) Station and Karet-BNI City Station to operate before the 2025 Christmas and New Year (Nataru) holidays.

"(Before Nataru) we tried (to be opened). I was chasing the JIS Station. The promise was December (opened)," Dudy said at a media briefing, in Jakarta, Friday, December 5.

For your information, the government does plan to integrate Karet Station with BNI City. Later, up and down passengers will be carried out at BNI City Station.

In fact, PT Kereta Api Indonesia (Persero) or KAl has also carried out a number of renovations to connect the two stations. Including the installation of a canopy, so that passengers are comfortable while walking.

Dudy said the government would not close Karet Station because the station would be an alternative entrance to BNI City.

"So if it's friends from Tanah Abang who enter from Karet, it's still open, so they can walk, but get on the BNI train. So it's a bit of a walk," said Dudy.

Meanwhile, the Director General of Railways of the Ministry of Transportation Allan Tandiono admitted that he continued to coordinate intensively with the DKI Jakarta Provincial Government and PT KAl to discuss the integration of the two stations.

Kata Aan, integrasi kedua stasiun tersebut masih dalam tahap pengerjaan peningkatan fasilitas pejalan kaki oleh Pemprov dan PT KAl.

“(Dibukanya) ini tergantung peningkatan. Jadi Pemprov DKl dan juga PT KAl sedang melakukan langkah percepatan untuk meningkatkan kenyamanan,” tuturnya.

Kata Aan, dengan integrasi ini nantinya penumpang KRL yang akan menuju JL. KH Mas Mansyur dapat keluar dari sisi Stasiun Karet, sedangkan bagi yang akan menuju Sudirman dapat melalui BNI City.

Aan said, the integration of the two stations is still in the process of increasing pedestrian facilities by the Provincial Government and PT KAl.

"This (opening) depends on the increase. So the DKl Provincial Government and also PT KAl are taking accelerated steps to increase comfort," he said.

Aan said, with this integration, KRL passengers will go to JL. KH Mas Mansyur can get out of the side of Karet Station, while those who will go to Sudirman can go through BNI City.
