Luhut Bank Of The Issue Of Involvement With PT Toba Pulp Lestari

JAKARTA - Chairman of the National Economic Council (DEN) Luhut Binsar Pandjaitan dismissed accusations linking himself to ownership or involvement in PT Toba Pulp Lestari (TPL).

The company was previously referred to as the party that contributed to environmental damage that exacerbates floods in Sumatra.

"In connection with the circulation of various confusing information on social media and public spaces regarding allegations that Mr. Luhut Binsar Pandjaitan has involvement or ownership in the company Toba Pulp Lestari (TPL), we hereby convey official clarification. This information is not true," said Luhut spokesman Jodi Mahardi, in his official statement, Thursday, December 4.

According to Jodi, Luhut has absolutely no ownership, entanglement, or other forms of involvement, either directly or indirectly, with Toba Pulp Lestari.

"Every claim circulating regarding his ownership or involvement is false and baseless information," he said.

He added that as a state official, Luhut always obeys all regulations related to transparency, government ethics, and the management of potential conflicts of interest.

Jodi juga menegaskan bahwa Luhut selalu terbuka terhadap proses verifikasi fakta dan mendorong masyarakat untuk mengandalkan sumber informasi yang dapat dipercaya.

Dia mengingatkan publik agar lebih cermat dalam menyebarkan informasi yang belum terverifikasi, serta menjaga etika dalam ruang digital guna mencegah terjadinya kesalahpahaman dan penyebaran disinformasi.

Jodi also emphasized that Luhut is always open to the fact-verification process and encourages people to rely on reliable sources of information.

He reminded the public to be more careful in spreading unverified information, as well as maintaining ethics in the digital space to prevent misunderstandings and spread of disinformation.
