Pelindo Says Bali Is The Operator's Destination For The World Cruise Ship

JAKARTA - BUMN Pelindo Benoa, Denpasar, revealed that Bali is one of the main tourist destinations offered by world cruise ship operators.

"We are committed to maintaining superior service standards so that tourists get the best experience during their visit," said General Manager of Benoa Anak Port Agung Gede Agung Mataram as reported by ANTARA, Tuesday, December 3.

He explained that one of the indicators is that a number of cruise ship operators opened their first voyage to and docked at Benoa Port, Bali, one of which was the arrival of the Genting Dream cruise ship which docked at 17.00 WITA on Tuesday.

The cruise ship with the flag of fire has a length of 330 meters and a weight of 150,695 gross tonnage (GT) carries 4,115 passengers and 1,796 crew members on a voyage from Singapore to Bali.

The plan is for the jumbo cruise ship to depart on December 3, 2025 at 02.00 WITA and stop first at Celukan Bawang Port, Buleleng Regency, Bali, before returning to Singapore.

Previously, on Monday, November 24, 2025, it also docked for the first Discovery Princess, a cruise ship with a flag of 330 meters long and a dead weight of 145,281 GT.

The ship carried 3,538 passengers and 1,350 crew members on a voyage from Vietnam before continuing their journey to Darwin the next day.

While in Benoa, ship passengers enjoy various tourist activities that contribute to increasing the movement of tourists in Bali.

His party noted that as of Tuesday it had served a total of 55 cruise ships from a number of world ports with a total number of passengers reaching around 113,448 people.

It is planned that in the first week of December, Benoa Port is scheduled to serve five cruise ships with a total of about 10,223 passengers and 4,364 crew.

This achievement shows a significant increase compared to the same period the previous year, where the number of passengers and ship visits was recorded to be lower.

His party noted that in 2023, the interest of world operators to Bali was quite large, namely 48 visits with passenger flow reaching 78,241 people.

The following year it increased to 56 cruise ship visits with 107,717 passengers.

"This increase reflects the recovery of the confidence of world cruise ship operators in Bali as well as the strengthening of national tourism attraction," he added.

During 2025, his party estimates that a total of 66 cruise ships will stop at Benoa and by 2026, as many as 73 luxury cruise ships have registered to stop at Benoa Harbor in line with the increase in clothing capacity in the Bali Maritime Tourism Hub (BMTH) area.
